Sei comuni, una città. Un unico intervento in grado di unificare le diverse esigenze e identità dei comuni aggreganti. Il progetto risponde alle aspettative della nuova Mendrisio e al suo intento di diventare un nuovo polo di interscambi e connessioni culturali: sei volumi in rilievo, ciascuno corrispondenti ad un comune, creano un suggestivo ingresso a Mendrisio e al Ticino. Non è solo un progetto da mettere in mostra: è un progetto che collega. Collega due diversi paesi, l’Italia e la Svizzera, e sei distinte città che ora appartengono alla stessa città. Collega anche le persone, che sono spinte a vivere incontri collettivi nelle sale espositive e polivalenti che il progetto crea. Il volume principale corrisponde a Mendrisio e collega con se stesso gli altri padiglioni, a dimostrazione della sua leadership nel processo di aggregazione. I padiglioni sono configurati in base alle dimensioni dei comuni e al numero di abitanti. Al di sotto del padiglione espositivo si trovano gli uffici, gli spazi dei servizi e il livello dei parcheggi.

Six municipalities, one city. A single intervention able to unify the different needs and identities of the aggregating municipalities. The project responds to the expectations of the new Mendrisio and its intent to become a new pole of cultural interchange and connections: six relief volumes, each corresponding to a municipality, create a suggestive entrance to Mendrisio and Ticino. It is not just a project to show off: it is a project that connects. It connects two different countries, Italy and Switzerland, and six distinct cities that now belong to the same city. It also connects people, who are forced to experience collective encounters in the exhibition and multipurpose rooms that the project creates. The main volume corresponds to Mendrisio and connects the other pavilions with himself, demonstrating his leadership in the aggregation process. The pavilions are configured according to the size of the municipalities and the number of inhabitants. Below the exhibition pavilion are the offices, service spaces and the level of parking lots.
